Week 7

Posted in Financial Analysis Posts, Weekly Posts at 7:48 pm by ortegaan

My Dream “A Beautiful Mexican Traditional Wedding” came true and this is how I accomplished it:

My initial ideas: As far as my Financial Analysis Site, I want to share my wedding’s theme for planning and budgeting this type of wedding. A true traditional Mexican Wedding includes a Catholic Mass, a rich cultural reception and the continuation of wedding the next day called Torna Boda. I planned my own about a year ago and married the man of my dreams on May 24, 2008. It was such an overwhelming experience that eventually fulfilled all my expectations and was totally satisfied of my hard work. When asked about my planning, I simply want to share to all the interested my financial analysis of this remembered moment in life.

To start off my financial analysis I want to split the three main events: Mass, Reception, Torna Boda, closely analyzing each individual part that composes the whole event.

Blogging frustrations: I am still having trouble adding links within the body of my pages. I did make 3 sub pages named after each of my budgeting spreadsheets I will be adding. I did enroll in google docs so that I can later upload my spreadsheets. Because a lot of the items used in a traditional Mexican Wedding are only named in Spanish, I will have to be adding a lot of pictures with the meaning of each item so that the understanding of each item is explained. I added Financial analysis links on the widgets to the right to show how others have accomplished the same dream.

Week 6 Post

Posted in Weekly Posts at 1:48 pm by ortegaan

Adding pictures to my Culture Site Project was a challenge. As user-friendly as it may seem, I didn’t understand why when uploading images, they would go straight to the next tab and all you could do was save changes and not post.

I learned later the correct process after reading about how to upload images correctly with accurate info when reading the guidelines from Week 6 posted by Ms. Van Londen. I was able to play around with the different types of displays such as thumbnails or regular dimensional formats. Since adding pictures is still a process, I have a couple more to add with descriptions and all.

As far as my Financial Analysis Site, I intend to write about budgeting for a wedding. Not just any wedding though, a true traditional Mexican Wedding where the Catholic Church, 2 day reception, mariachi, live band is included. I planned my own about a year ago and had a great turn out. When asked about my planning, I simply want to let all the interested know, but it is a little hard talking about it and not having it jotted down for their view. I want to make it known that anyone can have a Traditional Mexican Wedding with the right faith and preparation for an approx $20,000-$40,000 event.

Week 5 Post

Formatting has not been good to me. I wrote my draft in Note Pad but for some odd reason I am getting different fonts and font sizes within the draft and between pages. I finally figured out how to add the pictures on my blog for my Culture Site Project. I still have not received an email back from the Dr. Gonzalez on the interview. I am formatting my Culture Site Pages to be under the parent page of Culture Site. I broke down my sub pages to be Bibliography, Country: Mexico, and also her invention.  It has been hard trying to get some of her invention’s sources. I have tried researching Databases and regular online researches to find more on her invention, but this seems complicated. I am unsure whether it is because of the language, translating has been difficult too.

Week 4 Post

I am extremely happy with the display of my Blog. I found that the widgets are an easy way to get to the Posts I need to see or the pages I need to work on.  I am trying to figure out how to put pictures on the Blog for Ms. Gonzalez, my Culture Site study. I did find out how to put in Links without having to put the whole URL in the Blog.  I Continue to work on my Culture Site Project.

Week 3 Post

I found that week 2 helped me a lot to organize my Blog and now during week 3, I was able to manage my blog easier. I think it is now a lot easier to seek what I need and categorize it correctly.  The links are the most complicated thing for me.  I started on my culture project page, I will be using the Page to post my Culture Site progress and lastly I to finalize it.

Week 2 Post

I changed my display and lost myself. The format was a bit hard to figure out. The categories part of setting up my blog was confusing. I hope I go this right. I am playing around with the Write and Manage tabs mostly. The whole purpose of my playing around with this blog set up is to make it user friendly and easily to follow.

My experience with setting up my WordPress address was fairly easy. I had used WordPress briefly before and am excited to learn more about blogging. From what I can see, we can change many types of settings such a public view, layout, and make it personalized. Even though this entry was a refresher for me, I am excited once again for using this program.
